SMARTset 2.4 delivers remote monitoring and control via desktop, tablet, and phone

SMARTset 2.4 deliver....

4NG announced today the release of SMARTset 2.4 further developing remote monitoring and control via desktop, tablet, and smartphone. SMARTset users can control other devices and view power, capacity, and environmental data on the go plus there is capability to install SMARTset on local, low cost controllers.

SMARTset 2.4 provides users with a wealth of power, capacity, and environmental data, all of which can be viewed on dashboards or as reports. Importantly, users can take control over the level of data shown – they can customise the dashboards to show relevant data, and reports can be created for power usage (site, room, ACU, PDU, racks), cooling capacity (site, room, ACU), and power usage (site, room, ACU). With the depth of information available, data centre managers can make more informed decisions about asset placement and power requirements.

With the introduction of remote controls, SMARTset users can now manage their estate – small or large – from any location. This capability can reduce costs considerably, for example, if HVAC hardware doesn’t have optimised setpoints, users can change the setpoints quickly from their phones or tablets, before operational issues arise. SMARTset can also be configured to apply controls dynamically, in response to on-site conditions, for example, turning lights off to a pre-determined schedule. With SMARTset all of this can be achieved through one interface.

Steve O’Hara Chief Information Officer at 4NG said, “The importance of remote control cannot be over-emphasised and the ability to react quickly to events – automatically or manually – takes SMARTset beyond the confines of a standard monitoring solution. Coupled with the sheer breadth of remote data at its disposal, SMARTset can make intelligent decisions about what actions should be taken.”

Steve O’Hara will be speaking in the DCIM theatre at Data Centre World, ExCel, London on 13th April from 10.15-10.40am or visit 4NG at stand P35 from 12th-13th April.

NOTES TO EDITORS

4NG work with facilities and IT managers to improve their understanding and management of infrastructure to lower energy and cooling costs.
Through our low cost, easy to operate SMARTset software, we can connect to any equipment, sensors and meters. We can perform analytics on data to demonstrate optimum configurations via flexible alarms and controls, and then, if required, control equipment remotely.

SMARTset is suitable for any size of ICT infrastructure from the largest data centre to the smallest communications room. The software is open, vendor agnostic, low cost and unique.
